With today’s official launch of multibanking in Switzerland via the bLink Open Banking platform by SIX, a new chapter begins for the Swiss financial landscape. BlueBudget – the independent Swiss app for personal financial management – will introduce the new multibanking function gradually, starting with a selected group of users.
While bLink provides standardized access to account data, not all banks are fully integrated yet, and some institutions currently use different pricing models. As a result, BlueBudget is taking a controlled approach, collecting real-world user insights and expanding the service carefully and sustainably.
Multibanking for bank accounts – the first step
In this first phase, users can connect bank accounts from various institutions to BlueBudget and view their financial information in one central place.
The integration of credit cards will follow at a later stage and is not part of the initial release.
“Today is a significant moment for the Swiss financial sector — and a milestone for BlueBudget,” says Stefan Steuble, Co-Founder of BlueBudget.
“We are starting with a smaller user group to ensure stability, quality, and security. Our goal is clear: to offer a complete, independent overview of personal finances — step by step and always guided by user needs.”
Why a controlled rollout?
- Not all banks are technically ready at this stage.
- Some institutions have varying pricing models, making the actual effort per bank differ today.
- A phased rollout allows BlueBudget to gather initial user feedback, evaluate costs realistically, and scale the offering responsibly.
This approach ensures the development of a stable, high-quality, and long-term sustainable multibanking service.
Open Banking becomes reality — and BlueBudget is part of it
The bLink platform by SIX provides the technological foundation for secure, standardized data exchange between banks and third-party providers. BlueBudget is working closely with SIX and participating institutions to expand coverage and continuously enhance the service.
“Open Banking in Switzerland is gaining momentum. We are proud to be part of this development — and we are taking a responsible and user-centric approach,” says Steuble.
